Euphen Alexander (1917-2008) had an exciting life. Originally born in Rangoon, her family moved back to Scotland in her early years. She studied art privately with Cedric Morris and found a passion for floral depiction. An avid traveller, she painted the native flowers wherever she visited. She was a major figure in Scottish Art, particularly in The Borders, as she lived lived in Selkirk for much of her life. Euphen was the president of The Scottish Society of Women Artists.
